Dussehra // Saturday 4th October 2014

The epic saga between good and evil...

Come and join us for the celebration of Lord Ram's victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravan.

This day is also known as Vijayadashami and is the day when Lord Ram defeated the demon Ravan who had abducted Sita (Ram's wife) to his kingdom of Lanka. Ram, Lakshman (His brother), Hanuman and an army of monkeys fought a great battle to rescue Sita.

The night will include a special drama performance and the burning of Ravan.

Drama performance - 6.15pm
Burning of Ravan - 7pm
Hot food from 5.30pm

Please note
The statue of Ravan represents the inner enemies within us all. So when we are burning the statue, we are actually burning the evilness within us and not Ravan himself.
